20 things you may or may not know about me
OMG she's posting again and its another list wow how original. Ok, I really do apologize, but I just can't stop talking about myself. I tried to write about like ten other things but it didn't work out. Enjoy these lesser known tidbits of my life.
- I adore The Beach Boys (currently trying to convince my mom to let me go to the Pet Sounds 50th Anniversary concert with the Boston Pops, fingers crossed)
- I can say the alphabet backwards
- I have 20 moose stuffed animals and a ton of other moose paraphernalia and have no regrets about any of it
- My favorite word is “bookkeeper” because of all the double letters in row, but also how cool is a keeper of books
- I’m so bad at saving money
- I have almost 800 songs on my phone and I don’t even like half of them
- I love Trader Joe’s
- I have no idea how I feel about avocados
- I recently discovered that Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Scott Joplin are some of my new heros
- Also on the hero list is James Herriot, and it saddens me that you probably don’t know who that is
- More than half of my wardrobe is navy blue
- I don’t own a single pair of sweatpants
- My favorite flowers are daffodils
- I love Valentine’s Day
- I used to play the harp and Sam will never let that go
- I hate country music and AM radio
- I love animal fun facts - especially animal group names
- I am a true movie fanatic
- I’m always listening to music and consider my music taste “unequivocally remarkable”
- I know a bunch of really strange and random words like ultracrepidarianism and callipygian because of this book I read in elementary school that I can never ever forget (I highly recommend learning these words because they are wonderful and come in handy)

25 Reasons to Live
When I was in the hospital, my very first “assignment” was to write out 25 reasons to live, and share them during our group session. Since the original copy is in a box somewhere, I’m making a new one. With the new year comes so many new challenges, and I know I’m going to want to look at this list every once in awhile (probably everyday, let's be real). I don’t know if I’ll get around to making a resolutions list, because first of all, I never have, and second, I’m really skeptical of my own ability to commit to a goal (how many years have I been trying to stop biting my nails again?). But I know for sure that in 2016, I can commit to staying alive for these reasons:
- upcoming movies you literally cannot miss (i could write an entire post on this)
- there are so many foods you haven’t tried yet
- and so many foods are worth living for
- your heart isn’t done growing
- all those hours you spent on pinterest planning your wedding. don’t you dare let those go to waste.
- concerts
- a home of your own
- there are lives to touch, guide, protect, heal, love, change, save
- that moose watching adventure
- so many dogs to be adopted
- you don’t even truly know yourself, there’s good inside of you that you haven’t even seen yet
- you have a date. eventually.
- your future is probably full of joy
- outlive the haters
- to be a living, breathing, screaming invitation to believe better things
- celebrations
- you have so much to give
- there’s such a lot of world to see
- what if there’s a conversation waiting to happen that will change everything?
- happy days
- you really do care about people
- people really do care about you
- books to read
- music you haven’t heard yet
- you will refuse to end until you can reap no more serenity, courage, or wisdom from this planet
